| 自己紹介 | Hi, my name is Rachel! I'm from Virginia in the US. I studied fashion design in university, and I'm studying art education now. For my master's thesis, I researched ways to use art and art museums to facilitate English conversation. If you are interested in talking about art, just let me know! In my free time, I enjoy hiking and traveling around Japan with my family. I also love reading books, especially fantasy and mystery. I've taught English in elementary, junior high, and senior high schools. I have also taught an adult business English class. | 経歴・資格 | I taught as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) in public Japanese schools from 2013 to 2020. Most of my experience is with junior and senior high school students, but I also taught in elementary schools for two years. A few times a year I visited a school for the visually impaired (盲学校), and once a year I visited a nursery school. I started teaching adult English conversation classes at a café twice a month in 2020. I loved being in the classroom, but I've come to enjoy one-on-one or small group lessons very much. I hold four TEFL certifications, including a diploma in TEFL. - 子供がお世話になっています。 最初は30分も先生と2人きりで大丈夫かしら？ととても心配でしたが、子供部屋からは毎回楽しそうな笑い声が聞こえてきます。 先生は明るくて優しくて、また、同じ子供を持つママの目線からも話題豊富に指導してくださいます。 子供が嫌がらずに続けているので、とてもありがたいです。
